Disease Update
Finland July 2026
On 30th July the Finnish authorities confirmed their first case of ASF, found in the carcasses of young wild boar in a region close to the Russian border. Measures to limit the spread of the disease have been taken immediately.
A containment zone has been established around the area, which restricts the movement of kept pigs in order to determine the prevalence of the disease in wild boars and to prevent the disease from spreading to other parts of the country.
SPAIN
Spain continues to see confirm cases of ASF in wild boar, with their pig market now severely impacted by trade restrictions despite regionalisation agreements in place with China and other trading partners.
