Expression of Interest: ASCA hosted independent pig producer roundtable
31st Jul 2026 / By Tom Haynes
As part of ongoing efforts to support the needs of independent producers and better understand their current challenges within the marketplace, the Agricultural Supply Chain Adjudicator (ASCA), supported by the NPA, is looking to hold a roundtable with independent pig producers.
While we are continuing to engage with government about what immediate support they might be able to provide, this is more about the longer-term structural change we could help introduce to improve transparency and deliver behaviour change across the supply chain following the final entry into force of the Fair Dealing Obligations (Pigs) Regulations 2025 (FDOP).
As such we are putting out an Expression of Interest for any producers who would be willing to take part in the session and share their experiences with Richard Thompson (ASCA) and his team. This will be in the format of an in-person roundtable held under Chatham House rules at a central Westminster location.
We are limited in the number of places we can accommodate and so if we are oversubscribed, we will seek to pick a representative sample based on those who have registered their interest.
We are still working with the ASCA office to confirm a date but it will likely be early September. If you are interested in attending the roundtable please complete this Expression of Interest Form.
